MAVECURE

La respiración de la piedra

La Isla de Salamanca is a group of small islands that separates the Ciénaga Grande de Santa Marta from the Colombian Caribbean Sea. They were formed through a sedimentation process in an ancient bay of the Magdalena River, giving rise to an amphibious ecosystem where fresh and salt waters blend with sediments and land, creating a perfect balance where mangroves take center stage.

THE STRENGTH OF AN INTERWOVEN STRUCTURE

In the ebb and flow of the sea and the shifting sands, the roots of mangroves intertwine in a pact of survival. Each supports the other, bound by the necessity to withstand the transition between water, land, and wind. The balance of each mangrove depends on its anchoring in the others, thus creating a shared and interconnected network.

MATERIALS

Just like the roots of mangroves, your jewel weaves a network that supports its own structure crafted from recycled Sterling Silver from X-rays and hand-blown glass.

CONTRIBUTE TO THE RESTORATION OF MANGROVES

With the purchase of any jewel from the ISLA DE SALAMANCA collection, you contribute to the restoration of mangroves alongside the BATIS FOUNDATION. This organization is dedicated to the construction, restoration, and monitoring of mangroves, restoring their life, beauty, and resilience. For this purpose, they establish mangrove nurseries where they grow until reaching the required size before being transplanted into a mangrove area, where they can seamlessly integrate into the ecosystem in a lasting manner.
